Nestled in the beautiful Lahaul Valley, the Yunam Peak is a stunning mountain that stands tall at an elevation of 6,111 meters. The peak is surrounded by the majestic Himalayan range and offers a stunning view of the entire Lahaul Valley. The Yunam Peak Climbing Expedition in Lahaul is a challenging yet rewarding trek that takes you through some of the most picturesque landscapes in the region.

The expedition starts from the quaint town of Manali, which is a popular tourist destination in India. The town is known for its stunning landscapes, adventure sports, and vibrant culture. From Manali, you will embark on a thrilling drive to Patsio, where you will acclimatize yourself for the upcoming trek. The next few days will take you through some of the most scenic routes in the region, as you make your way to the base camp at Bharatpur.

At the base camp, we set up our tents and prepare for the ascent. We spend a day acclimatizing to the altitude and practicing essential mountaineering skills, such as rope handling, ice axe handling, and self-arrest techniques. We also have ample time to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude.

The Yunam Peak Climbing Expedition is designed for experienced trekkers who are looking for a challenging and exhilarating adventure. The trek requires a good level of physical fitness and stamina, as you will be climbing at high altitudes and tackling some steep terrains. However, with the help of our experienced guides and support staff, you can conquer the summit of Yunam Peak and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Manali

You will arrive in Manali, where our team will be waiting to receive you. After a brief orientation, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the town and getting acclimatized to the altitude.

Day 2: Drive: Manali to Patsio and acclimatisation trek

We will start early in the morning and embark on a scenic drive to Patsio crossing Keylong and Jispa through Atal Tunnel.  After reaching the camp we go on a acclimatisation walk 

Day 3:Drive: Patsio to Bharatpur and set up base camp

After breakfast, we will drive to Baralacha Pass and then make our way to Bharatpur, which is the starting point of the trek. Here, we will set up the base camp and prepare ourselves for the upcoming climb.

Day 4:Acclimatization day

This day will be dedicated to acclimatizing ourselves to the altitude and getting familiar with the surroundings. We will spend the day trekking to a nearby hill to further acclimatize to the altitude and practice some mountaineering skills. This will include basic techniques such as rope handling, ice axe handling, and self-arrest techniques.You can spend the day exploring the area or resting in the base camp.

Day 5: Summit Camp Establishment and back to base camp

We will start early and hike to the summit camp, which will be our base for the next few days. The hike is strenuous and will take approximately 6-7 hours. Once we reach the summit camp, we will establish our campsite and take a rest. After resting for a while, we will descend back to the base camp for the night

Day 6: Load Ferry to summit camp

Today, we will load our gear and supplies onto the mules and make our way to the summit camp. The trek will take us through some of the most scenic routes in the region, and we will camp overnight at the summit campsite.

Day 7: Summit attempt and back to Summit Camp

This day will be the highlight of the expedition, as we will attempt to summit the Yunam Peak. We will start early in the morning and make our way through the steep and challenging terrain to reach the summit. After spending some time at the top, we will make our way back to the summit campsite.

Day 8: Descend to base camp and drive back to Manali

After breakfast, we will start our descent back to the base camp. We will trek through some stunning landscapes and reach Bharatpur by afternoon. From there, we will drive back to Manali, where you can spend the evening relaxing and reminiscing about the thrilling adventure.

Day 9: Return to hometown from Manali

After breakfast, we will bid farewell to Manali and start your journey back home, with unforgettable memories of the Yunam Peak Climbing.
